International Festival of Street Theatres “Elagin Park” is an impressive event in the life of Saint-Petersburg, Russian cultural capital. We introduce various kinds of street art to the residents and visitors of the city via creating the holiday of theatre, music and the atmosphere of art.
The festival represents new interesting theatres, musical groups, circuses and other forms of street art, stimulates the integration of the Russian public into European cultural space.
We have the following purposes:
- creating the modern art space, the atmosphere of holiday and art on the area of Elagin island
- introducing the art groups from all over the world to the wide audience
- stimulating an active exchange of experience and impressions between artists and planning joint cultural projects
- creating and strengthening of international art connections
The 1st International festival of street theatres “Elagin Park” took place from 3rd to 5th June 2011. During three days more than 20 groups and artist from Russia, Belarus, German and Australia performed their shows. Within the framework of the festival was carried out the competition audience award “street performer” and the Festival of Street Musicians. The festival was visited by more than 40 thousands of people.

In June, 1st -3rd 2012 there will be the 2nd annual Festival of Street Theatres “Elagin Park”. We are carrying on negotiations with “Triad Nomade” (France-Spain), “Biuro Podrozy” (Poland), “New Front Theatre” (Czech Republic), Dan le Man (Australia-Estonia), Bernd Ogrodnik (Island) and many other artists from German, Italy, Spain, Belgium, The Netherlands etc. about their participating in the festival.
We invite to take part in the festival artistic groups working in the following genres:
- theatre (drama theatre, puppet show, plastic theatre, musical theatre etc.)
- pantomime
- dance
- music
- jugglery
- clownery
- original genre
- fire show
- other genres of street art
To take part in the festival you have to:
- send the information about your group and reviews
- attach a couple of photos and a video
When considering the applications the event administrations may decide to reimbursethe whole or a part of the expenses connected with transport, accommodations, meals and excursions.
If the participators have sponsors, they may be provided the following opportunities (which require additional coordination with the event administrators):
- placement of sponsor’s logo on the advertising materials of the event (posters, banners, press release on the website of Central Park of Culture and Rest, fliers, booklets, theatre programs, maps of the event etc.) Logo must be send not later than one month before the placement of advertising material of the event
- placement of sponsor’s banners or constructions at the territory of the Central Park of Culture and Rest
- mention of the sponsor during concert program on stages
- raffle of the prizes in the name of the sponsor
- providing an opportunity of placement sales outlets at the territory of the park
- providing an opportunity for the promotion campaign on stage
- broadcast of the audio advertising on the local radio of the park (40 exits) on weekends before the event and during the event
- monitoring of media publications, providing photos of the event and post release
